Antti Ylönen has participated in numerous international projects across Spain, Turkey, India and Japan. He has worked twice in Studio Youkobo in Tokyo and completed a commissioned sculpture for the Minamisoma Concert Hall in 2003.
One of his most significant international public art pieces is an environmental work entitled ’Hidden Power’ for TICKON – Tranekær International Centre for Art and Nature in Denmark in 2019.
His latest public sculpture, ’Hive’, which he created in collaboration with Jussi Valtakari, was unveiled at the new Lapland Central Hospital in 2023.
As part of the expression, alongside the sculptures, photography has also risen in recent years. ’My photos are a kind of photographic paintings or urban nature photographs.
I observe the details around me, found mainly in the built environment, which are often associated with rotting and decomposition.’
